Innovation in education can be priceless. The Comal Education Foundation (CEF), through grant funds, supports innovative teachers who wish to expand educational opportunities to help students reach their full potential. This initiative and innovation aren’t possible without the continuing support of the Comal community.
Through May 7, the CEF is seeking one-time financial contributions from members of the community to continue innovative programs in the district. Since 2001, the CEF has awarded almost $1 million to Comal ISD educators in the form of teacher grants, district-wide initiatives and other programming.
Recently, CEF funds were awarded to a variety of innovative programs planned for next fall. For example, funds will support an outdoor adventure education program at one of our middle schools, while other funds will be used for hands-on cybersecurity defense training at a high school, additional percussion equipment at an elementary school, and other programs. As a 501 (c)(3) non-profit, tax-exempt corporation, the CEF works to increase private support for the educational initiatives of Comal ISD. These activities are made possible through generous donations from corporate partners, parents, district employees, private grants, and community organizations.
The Comal Education Foundation continuously evaluates the most impactful ways it can help educators meet the needs of the district with resources that go beyond the normal operating budget. Funds raised are distributed to Comal ISD and used to promote student achievement, motivate students to learn, and provide a platform for all students to reach their potential.
