October 30, 2025 - The Comal Education Foundation received $10,000 from H-E-B during the grand re-opening celebration of the H-E-B plus! store in Spring Branch.
“Since 1905, H-E-B has been known for its innovation and commitment to community service,” said Javier Avalos, senior vice president of operations at H-E-B. “We truly believe that giving back not only allows us to better serve our customers in our stores but strengthens the communities we care so deeply about.
“To celebrate this momentous occasion at H-E-B, we would like to recognize a local nonprofit who focuses on funding teachers and achieving excellence in education, the Comal Education Foundation.”
Bringing school spirit to the festivities were cheer and dance teams from Canyon Lake High School, Pieper High School and Smithson Valley High School. The three campuses will receive $3,300 each from the total donation.
“We are honored to have a community partner like H-E-B that continues to believe in the power of education,” says Dr. Lizette Goodloe, the executive director for the Foundation. “Together with district partners and community supporters, we are making a meaningful difference in the lives of Comal ISD students.”
Founded in 2001, the Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enriching education in Comal ISD through community partnerships and financial support. Learn how to get involved with the Foundation and help its mission.
